Flying Star Transport, a fuel-hauling company based in Amarillo, Texas with a 55+ truck fleet, needed a more flexible, lower-cost electronic logging solution that would integrate with their accounting software and improve driver compliance and routing. After evaluating providers, Flying Star selected Motive and deployed Motive’s ELD solution to replace an expensive, inflexible system.

Motive delivered simplified hardware, geofencing and detention-time reporting, plus compliance and driver-coaching tools; the transition was described as easy and affordable. As a result, Flying Star saved roughly $40,000 in hardware and about $9,000 per year in subscriptions (at least $800 saved per truck), realized a 10–15% efficiency gain, and cut hours per load (from about 5 hours on a 130‑mile haul to about 4 hours on a 120‑mile haul), while gaining deeper operational insights for coaching and reducing wait times.
