The customer, Transport Canada, partnered with vendor Motive through the Innovative Solutions Canada Program to explore the use of virtual reality for training its safety inspectors. The challenge was to provide inspectors with a safe way to practice complex procedures and interactions in high-risk environments, allowing them to build confidence before applying their skills in the field.

Motive implemented a customized VR training solution by developing two realistic inspection scenarios in collaboration with Transport Canada’s experts. The solution utilized AI for trainee interactions and highly detailed 3D environments. The project was completed successfully, receiving incredibly strong feedback, with deployment of the new VR training program planned for Fall 2022.
