Leading Automotive Supplier improves in-cabin comfort with Motherson Technology Services using 48VAC PDLC smart glass

Motherson Technology Services helped a leading automotive supplier overcome the challenge of enhancing in-cabin passenger comfort and energy efficiency. The client sought to integrate PDLC smart glass technology to create a touch-controlled system for adaptive lighting and thermal management within their vehicles.

Motherson Technology Services delivered a complete embedded solution featuring a custom PCB with a central STM32 microcontroller, sensor integration, and a mechanical enclosure. This system enabled touch-controlled glass opacity, environmental monitoring, and sun angle calculation, all communicating via the CAN protocol. The results significantly enhanced passenger comfort, reduced HVAC reliance for lower energy consumption, and extended the battery range in electric vehicles, differentiating the client's automotive offerings.
