A The Mortgage Office Case Study
Oakland County faced an urgent challenge when their outside service bureau — which managed a 4,000+ loan portfolio of largely homeowner redevelopment loans — announced it was going out of business and gave the County three months to find a new servicer. To avoid future dependence on an outside vendor, Oakland County chose The Mortgage Office and purchased The Mortgage Office Loan Servicing and Trust Fund Accounting modules in a multi-user configuration to bring loan servicing in‑house.
The Mortgage Office coordinated the data conversion, provided test files for auditing, and moved the current data online in one day, then added a custom front-end "Cash Register" payment entry module for walk-in customers. As a result Oakland County staff were able to begin servicing the entire portfolio without running parallel operations, becoming fully functional rapidly and eliminating reliance on the former servicer while improving payment processing and reconciliation.
