New York City Transit - Customer Case Study

New York City Transit (NYCT) faced a significant challenge in securing and tracking keys for its restricted areas and revenue equipment across remote locations. Their outdated process of storing keys in a bag with a paper log was ineffective, leading to frequent key loss and a lack of accountability. To address this, NYCT partnered with vendor Morse Watchmans to implement its KeyWatcher key management system as part of a new security initiative.

Morse Watchmans provided a customized KeyWatcher solution consisting of intelligent key cabinets and Key-Pro software. This system gave NYCT strict key accountability by requiring authorization codes for access and providing a precise electronic log of all key movements. The results included a reduction in key replacements, the elimination of unauthorized access incidents, and the ability to manage keys remotely without a supervisor onsite. Morse Watchmans' solution became an integral part of NYCT's daily operations and hiring process.
