Morse Watchmans Key Control System Enhances Security at Australia’s Darwin International Airport

Darwin International Airport (DIA), a major airport in Australia's Northern Territory, needed to upgrade its security operations and address the risks of its outdated, manually-managed mechanical master key system. These risks included lost keys and a lack of oversight into who was accessing doors and gates. To solve this challenge, DIA partnered with Morse Watchmans to implement an automated key control solution.

Morse Watchmans installed its KeyWatcher key control system, integrating it with a new Cyberlock access control system. The solution involved replacing mechanical locks, installing key authorizers, and implementing management software. The deployment secured over 180 electronic keys, providing strict access control, automatic activity recording, and detailed audit trails. For DIA, the Morse Watchmans system enhanced security by preventing unauthorized key access, significantly reducing lost keys, and eliminating the need for staff to manually monitor key sign-outs.
