UNICEF tests 2,000 Vactraca necklaces with Morrama

The customer, UNICEF, faced a significant challenge in low-income countries where infants were not completing their routine immunizations due to lost paper records and inconsistent medical access. Morrama was engaged to develop a product to help mothers keep a clear and permanent record of their babies' vaccines.

Morrama designed the Vactraca, a low-cost necklace with seven discs representing vaccine stages. Each disc can be permanently marked by a medical professional to record administered vaccines. A pilot of 2,000 necklaces was tested in South Sudan in 2025 with the aim of reducing child mortality and expanding the solution across Africa.
