Shellworks future-proofs Wild shower gel refills in 2024 with Morrama

Shellworks, a sustainable materials company, faced the challenge of updating their Wild shower gel packaging to reduce costs and improve the user experience while ensuring compatibility across different refill materials and future-proofing their system. They engaged the design and innovation agency Morrama to redesign the refillable case and develop a solution using their innovative Vivomer material.

Morrama created a new, simplified two-part case design that was backwards and forwards compatible with all existing and future refills, ensuring no customer would need to dispose of their old case. The solution successfully utilized Shellworks' Vivomer, a compostable and marine-biodegradable material that leaves no microplastics behind. This allowed Shellworks to confidently expand into new markets with a more agile, on-shored supply chain that reduced shipping time, costs, and environmental impact.
