Altra Industrial Motion, a global manufacturer of motion control and power transmission systems, needed a better way to protect its rapidly expanded environment after a major merger. The company had relied on a managed detection and response (MDR) service built around a leading EDR tool, but an attack evaded detection, escalated privileges, and left the team with a false sense of security and little help from the service provider.

To improve protection, Altra Industrial Motion deployed Morphisec on top of Windows Defender AV, using Morphisec’s preventative cybersecurity to complement existing Microsoft tools. With Morphisec, the company gained visibility across the attack chain, secured endpoints and servers without adding dedicated security staff, and shifted focus to higher-value work. Morphisec helped Altra Industrial Motion protect twice the endpoints at half the cost of its MDR platform.
