Gradido boosts performance and rewrites 1,000+ tests with Monterail

Gradido, a non-profit organization developing an alternative monetary model, faced the challenge of migrating its complex digital currency platform from Vue 2 to Vue 3. The goal was to future-proof the platform, improve performance, and align with modern development practices, but they encountered compatibility issues with key libraries like BootstrapVue. Monterail was engaged to execute this migration.

Monterail successfully migrated the platform by upgrading tooling to Vite, replacing incompatible libraries like BootstrapVue with bootstrap-vue-next, and migrating the vee-validate library. The solution included refactoring the codebase and updating over 400 code files. The results delivered by Monterail included enhanced rendering speed, reduced memory usage, and a more maintainable codebase, with over 1,000 tests rewritten to ensure functionality and robustness for the future.
