Afriwise, an award-winning legal platform focused on Africa, needed to build a web application to provide affordable legal information but lacked the technical expertise in-house. Their challenge was to create an intuitive MVP within a defined budget, featuring a large and flexible database for non-technical users. They selected the vendor Monterail for this development work.

Monterail organized a workshop to define a flexible scope and then built the platform from scratch using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js. The solution evolved from an MVP into a continuously growing platform. As a result, Afriwise united over 180 law firms across 40+ countries, became a daily tool for major European companies, won multiple awards, and secured a million-euro investment in 2021 to accelerate growth.
