Raiffeisen Bank International develops custom Amalia typeface in 2018 with Monotype

Raiffeisen Bank International, a leading commercial and investment bank based in Austria, sought to reshape its brand for the digital world as its presence grew. Their previous typeface, Futura, posed licensing and consistency challenges across the group. The bank reached out to Monotype for guidance on a new typographic approach to support their brand evolution.

Monotype worked closely with Raiffeisen Bank International to develop a custom typeface named Amalia. This versatile font family was designed to serve all the bank's needs across digital and non-digital mediums globally, becoming a key component of their refreshed identity. The solution provided a unified and consistent typographic voice for the bank's international markets, replacing the previous inconsistent system.
