MIND improves accessibility across 2 Mind Meridian weights with Monotype

Mind, a major mental health charity in the UK, faced a challenge with its outdated visual identity. Its typography consisted of several different fonts acquired over the years, which lacked consistency and did not meet new digital and accessibility demands. To better reach its diverse audience and support its volunteers, Mind partnered with agency DesignStudio and vendor Monotype to develop a new, accessible typeface that could work across all platforms.

Monotype created Mind Meridian, a modified version of FS Meridian, tailored for high legibility and to harmonize with Mind's refreshed branding. The solution included subtle changes to letter shapes and spacing to improve readability, alongside custom hand-drawn punctuation that reflected the charity's iconic logo. The result was a cohesive and flexible typeface system that is easy for non-designers to use, ensuring brand consistency and enhancing accessibility for all users.
