A MonkeyLearn Case Study
Devex, a media platform serving the development community, needed a better way to curate content from thousands of weekly RSS items. Using MonkeyLearn, which they already used for document and report processing, they set out to automate the manual review of about 3,000 pieces of content per week to find the roughly 300 that were relevant.
MonkeyLearn helped Devex build a custom classifier to label content as relevant or not, with data flowing through Zapier and results reviewed in Google Sheets and Slack. The initial model classified 75% correctly, and after refinements Devex only had to read about 33% of entries instead of 100%, saving 30 hours per month, cutting 66% of the work, and making the process 50x cheaper.
