Preview of the Wells Fargo Case Study

Wells Fargo processes 20 TB of data per day with MongoDB

Wells Fargo, a multinational financial services giant, faced the challenge of modernizing its legacy mainframe to handle exponentially growing data and to offer a seamless, scalable digital payment experience for its card customers. To achieve this, the company launched its Cards 2.0 initiative and turned to vendor MongoDB and its Enterprise Advanced product to build a more sustainable platform.

Wells Fargo implemented an operational data store on MongoDB to modernize its architecture. The MongoDB solution processes 20 terabytes of data per day and supports over 80 microservices, enabling the bank to speed up the rollout of new features and deliver a smooth multichannel experience. This provided the scalability and resiliency needed for future growth while successfully reducing dependencies on its mainframe.
