Nuxeo is a content services platform that builds purpose‑built digital content applications for enterprises. Facing complex data structures, massive scalability needs, heavy write loads and slow SQL-based performance at large volumes, Nuxeo needed a storage approach that could deliver rapid retrieval and simpler, more scalable deployments.

Nuxeo implemented a MongoDB connector and uses MongoDB Atlas for cloud-hosted, managed databases, leveraging a pluggable architecture to store metadata, search indexes and blobs in MongoDB. The move simplified deployment (removing complex SQL replicas and caching), improved performance and scalability, and provided the data safety and SLAs needed to deliver ECM applications at enterprise scale.
