Monoprix digitizes 3 million daily receipts with MongoDB

Monoprix, a major French retail chain, faced a significant challenge when a 2023 regulatory requirement mandated the issuance of digital receipts for all transactions. The company needed to develop a new IT system capable of handling up to one million daily transactions to meet this demand. They turned to vendor MongoDB and its product MongoDB Atlas to build a solution.

The solution implemented was Transaction Online (TOL), a system built on MongoDB Atlas that processes transaction data from various sources and routes digital receipts to customers and other departments. With support from MongoDB Professional Services, the system was successfully deployed. The results were highly successful, with the MongoDB-based solution capable of issuing 100 electronic receipts per second and handling 5,000 transactions per minute during peak periods, providing Monoprix with accurate, real-time data in a scalable architecture.
