Google Cloud Platform worked with MongoDB to improve modern application development on Google Compute Engine using MongoDB deployments and related resources. The challenge was to make MongoDB easier and more cost-effective to deploy on the cloud while supporting high-performance, scalable applications.

MongoDB implemented a developer-friendly experience on Google Compute Engine, including Click to Deploy, a solutions paper, and supporting documentation. The results included lower operational overhead, simpler backups and disaster recovery, and major performance gains: Server Density reported scaling from 10,000 ops per second to 480,000 ops per second, along with faster shard deployment and easier global workload migration.
