How Voya.ai uses MongoDB Atlas to Bring a Seamless Customer Experience to the Business Travel Market

Voya.ai is a Hamburg-based startup that brings a consumer-grade, chat-based booking experience to the B2B business travel market. Facing a fragmented, outdated ecosystem of disparate vendors and legacy tools, Voya uses natural language processing to interpret travel requests and enforce corporate policies while eliminating friction in itinerary creation.

To do this they built a conversational interface and proprietary matching engine powered by Dialogflow, machine learning and a modern stack (Kubernetes, Python, .NET) with MongoDB Atlas on AWS storing ~1.5M hotels using GeoJSON for geospatial queries. Atlas removed much of the operational overhead, reduced latency by running in Frankfurt, and enabled global scaling — outcomes that let Voya serve 150 companies, streamline compliant bookings, and continue expanding features like automated expense management and end-to-end AI automation.
