How Planable Uses Mongodb Atlas to Help Social Media Teams Move Their Creative Processes Forward

Planable, founded by Nicolae Gudumac with co‑founders Xenia Muntean and Vlad Calus, is a collaboration platform that helps social media teams plan, visualize, and approve posts in a live‑feed interface. The company faced a fragmented, slow feedback loop across hundreds of campaigns and needed a flexible, scalable backend to support real‑time syncing, rapidly changing content formats, and a small engineering team focused on fast product iteration.

Planable adopted MongoDB’s document model and real‑time features (oplog tailing and change streams) on a Node.js/WebSockets stack and migrated to MongoDB Atlas using the Live Migration Service with no downtime. Atlas’ queryable backups, automated upgrades, Real‑Time Performance panel and Performance Advisor simplified scaling, indexing, and restores, saving developer time and preventing data-loss incidents. The result: faster development, reliable global performance, quick recoveries from mistakes, and thousands of new users monthly—boosting team productivity and helping Planable scale.
