Great Food, Fast Transactions How Moneris and McDonald’s Canada Teamed Up to Help Customers Go Contactless

McDonald’s Canada, which operates more than 1,400 restaurants serving over 2.5 million customers daily, needed a dependable, secure and fast point-of-sale payment solution that supported contactless payments. Already a Moneris customer, McDonald’s Canada turned to Moneris to upgrade its POS systems and stay compliant with evolving payment security and network standards while improving speed and reliability for high-volume quick-service environments.

Moneris implemented an end-to-end contactless solution using Ingenico iPP320 pin pads with Moneris’ POSPAD software and a purpose-built pin pad cable, fully integrating and certifying the rollout across 1,400+ locations. The Moneris solution delivered measurable impact—contactless transactions are roughly 10–12 seconds faster than chip-and-pin, crew and guests report quicker “tap and go” service, and help desk/field service calls dropped to less than half the previous volume—improving speed, security and reliability for McDonald’s Canada.
