Downtown Yonge BIA, a nonprofit Business Improvement Area in Toronto, faced major uncertainty during the pandemic and needed a better way to understand how COVID-19 was affecting the neighbourhood. The organization turned to Moneris and its Consumer Location Data (CLD) to uncover spending patterns, visitor origins, and sector-specific trends that could support recovery planning and more informed decisions.
Moneris provided geo-level consumer data and hands-on support from its Data Services team, helping Downtown Yonge BIA analyze over 30 sectors and interpret the story behind the numbers. The result was a clearer view of neighbourhood impact and a stronger data-driven strategy for the future, with the BIA planning to use time-specific data to track trends over time and support local businesses.
