A major food service operator and supplier partnered with Mondra to explore how environmental product data could enhance the commercial strategy for its food-to-go category. The challenge was to test a new approach for driving a greener and more profitable product assortment by balancing carbon reduction with cost, quality, and nutrition.
Mondra implemented its Resilience solution, using a four-stage modeling approach powered by its environmental footprint data. The project tested various intervention strategies, such as reformulating and resizing products, which resulted in a 7.3% carbon reduction across the category while maintaining or improving commercial performance and nutritional profiles. Mondra demonstrated that category-level carbon reduction is commercially viable, providing a proven decision-support tool and a roadmap for future green category reviews.
