How this Coding for Kids Startup Manages its Task List

CodeMonkey Studios is a small startup that teaches kids real, text-based coding (CoffeeScript) through a game that has reached over two million learners and generates revenue. As the seven-person team scaled and worked across locations, their product and development work was hampered by fragmented to‑do lists (documents, spreadsheets, whiteboard photos and emails), which led to missed issues, poor prioritization and delayed fixes.

They adopted monday.com to centralize their workflow — using a product roadmap board, a main projects board with owners and due dates, and a Bugs & Enhancements board split into “This Week,” “Unsorted,” and prioritized groups. The platform helped bridge product requirements and development tasks, shortened weekly product meetings to under 30 minutes, clarified ownership and priorities, kept the international team aligned, and ensured bugs and features are tracked and completed.
