Olympique de Marseille Puts Match Highlights at Players’ And Sponsors’ Fingertips With Moments Lab Cloud Media Hub

Olympique de Marseille, a French professional football club, needed a new media management solution to replace its existing digital asset manager. The club's challenge was to automatically index and sort a vast amount of photos from matches and training sessions, a process that was consuming significant internal resources. They wanted to leverage AI for detecting players and sponsors and to provide self-service access to these assets for players and sponsors via a cloud-based platform, leading them to partner with vendor Moments Lab and its Media Hub.

The Moments Lab solution deployed Multimodal AI, including face, logo, and text detection, which was trained on 191 players and 15 sponsors to automatically tag and sort media. This automation saved the internal teams hours of manual work. The results included 77,000 archived photos being re-indexed, and players and sponsors gained direct access to personalized content through a mobile app, with 698 photos downloaded and shared on social media in a recent two-month period.
