ASBU Covers UN Climate Change Conference With Moments Lab

The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) needed a transitional cloud media solution to automatically record, store, and distribute live feeds from the COP27 climate conference. Their challenge was to efficiently translate, categorize, and clip footage from the two-week event and swiftly send it to their 44 member stations. To meet this urgent need, they partnered with vendor Moments Lab to utilize its Cloud Media Hub with live ingest and Multimodal AI.

Moments Lab implemented a solution that ingested 250 hours of video over the two weeks. Their Multimodal AI automatically indexed the content, enabling facial recognition of over 70 people and providing transcription and translation into English, Arabic, and French. This allowed ASBU to quickly find, clip, and export content, which was then distributed to all 44 member stations. Moments Lab's technology powered ASBU's workflow, enabling them to effectively share conference coverage across the Arab world.
