comico, a leading smartphone-optimized manga app based in Tokyo, wanted to boost ad monetization as in-app ads were its main revenue stream. The company needed a new demand source to increase competition for ad inventory and improve returns, and it turned to Moloco and its Moloco SDK, which was available as a certified bidding partner on AppLovin MAX.
To address this, comico ran A/B tests on iOS and Android with 50% of traffic routed through Moloco SDK. Moloco’s machine learning-driven demand and broad global advertiser network helped raise competition and pricing, delivering an average 11% lift in eCPM and 24% increase in ARPDAU on iOS, plus a 4% eCPM rise and 22% ARPDAU gain on Android. Based on these results, comico moved 100% of its traffic to Moloco SDK.
