Flitsmeister, the Dutch driving app with over 3 million users, wanted to turn its large free user base into loyal paying customers and create a more stable revenue stream. In 2021, the company introduced a subscription model for Flitsmeister Pro, using Mollie’s recurring payments product to support the transition.

With Mollie’s easy-to-integrate API and technical guidance, Flitsmeister built and customized the subscription system in-house while keeping full control and flexibility. The result was a tenfold increase in recurring payments in the first year, and subscription revenue grew to become Flitsmeister’s core business, with paying Pro users rising from 60,000 in 2021 to more than twice that number shortly after.
