A Molecular Devices Case Study
The University of Leeds required an easy-to-use system to run small-scale screens for its research into novel protein scaffolds called Affimers. The Tomlinson lab needed an affordable and user-friendly alternative to other high-content imaging systems to investigate protein function at the molecular level. They turned to vendor Molecular Devices for a solution.
Molecular Devices provided the ImageXpress Pico Automated Cell Imaging System. The results were that the group successfully uses the system for small-scale screens and time-course experiments, imaging approximately 2-3 plates per day. The user-friendly interface allows non-specialists to operate it, and the system has enabled the lab to demonstrate how their Affimer proteins impact cellular signaling pathways.
