A Molecular Devices Case Study
The University of Copenhagen's Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC) faced the challenge of understanding the underlying processes of cancer metastasis, which is responsible for over 90% of cancer patient deaths. The research group, led by Dr. Janine Erler, needed to investigate how the tumor microenvironment affects metastatic behavior to identify new therapeutic targets. They utilized a SpectraMax Paradigm Multi-Mode Microplate Reader from Molecular Devices to aid in this research.
Molecular Devices provided the solution with their SpectraMax Paradigm reader equipped with a ScanLater Western Blot Detection Cartridge. This instrument allowed the scientists to investigate protein expression levels and signaling pathways critical to their work on tumor invasion and metastasis. The implementation of this tool advanced the group's research into identifying biomarkers and developing effective therapeutic strategies against metastatic disease.
