General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a global aerospace and defense firm with more than 49,000 associates, faced a fragmented digital workplace of siloed systems and underused tools that impeded productivity and made it harder to attract and retain talent—especially as employees adopted more mobile and flexible work styles.

GDIT launched an employee-first digital workplace transformation built on five persona criteria (Functional Profile, Location, Work Style, IT Toolkit, Identity & Access), created tailored persona profiles and a shared “Base Toolkit,” and deployed a branded mobile app via Modo. The result was a personalized, scalable experience that improved access, user adoption and engagement, guided digital investment priorities, and better enabled a mobile, productive workforce.
