Adidas hired Moderne Communications to engage sneakerheads and educate them about the new adidas NMD by creating an authentic brand experience that married the shoe’s retro design with modern technology. Moderne Communications (working with The 88) used an experiential, social/digital approach—centered on a Snapchat scavenger hunt supported by street teams and creative routing—to connect fans with the product.
Moderne Communications ran the Snapchat scavenger hunt across New York City and Los Angeles, routing participants through high-foot-traffic locations and participating adidas stores and offering Last Encore Tour tickets as prizes. The activation resulted in hundreds of tickets given away, millions of digital and in-person impressions, increased in-store interactions, and unique media coverage highlighting the campaign’s social innovation.
