GO Transit powers its 500,000-square-foot Whitby rail facility with Modern Niagara

GO Transit required a new, large-scale rail maintenance facility to support the largest expansion in its network's history. Modern Niagara was selected to deliver the essential electrical work for this Design-Build-Finance-Maintain (DBFM) project, which would be critical for keeping commuter trains operational.

Modern Niagara implemented a comprehensive electrical solution, including the main power distribution systems and a multi-system redundancy for power with co-generative units and emergency generation. The result was a 500,000-square-foot, LEED Gold certified facility that provides comprehensive maintenance and repair services for the GO Transit fleet, ensuring thousands of commuters can rely on the network daily.
