A Model N Case Study

AMD - Customer Case Study

AMD, a $6.5B semiconductor designer with over 50 global locations, relies on a two-tier distributor-reseller model to reach end customers. Because AMD only saw shipments to distributors, it lacked visibility into downstream sales, customer verticals, selling prices and discounts, which hindered revenue recognition and extended month-end close by weeks.

Working with Model N, AMD implemented a cloud-based Channel Data Management solution that automatically collects, normalizes and validates POS and inventory data from hundreds of partners in real time. The system delivers accurate, consistent channel intelligence—covering 548 distributors/resellers and about 273,628 monthly transactions—so AMD can see when partners sell product, track inventory and trends, make data-driven product and go-to-market decisions, and ultimately drive more channel revenue.
