Case Study: METER Group turns Fukushima decontamination science into a compelling book with Moby Digg

A Moby Digg Case Study

Preview of the METER Group Case Study

METER Group reduces radioactive waste by 95% with Moby Digg

The customer, METER Group, faced the challenge of overcoming consumer stigma against rice grown in Fukushima's decontaminated fields. Although a team of scientists had developed a safe and sustainable decontamination method, consumers remained unwilling to purchase the rice. METER Group engaged the digital design agency Moby Digg to help address this issue.

Moby Digg developed a comprehensive book design concept that incorporated paper made from the very rice straw grown in those fields. The agency used this paper to print a book that told the story of the decontamination process and the farmers, using photography, interviews, and data visualization based on scientific data. This tangible object, created by Moby Digg, served to make the science understandable and compelling for consumers.
