A Mobotix Case Study
Stackmann Department Store, a third-generation family-owned retailer in Buxtehude, Germany, faced the significant challenge of controlling costs from theft to maintain its competitive pricing. To address this, they sought an intelligent video surveillance solution and, after consulting with experts and visiting CeBIT 2006, selected MOBOTIX as their vendor.
The solution implemented by MOBOTIX consisted of 63 high-resolution IP cameras. These cameras provided brilliant image quality for identification, featured decentralized processing to minimize network load, and were integrated into the store's existing IP network. The results included a higher thief recognition rate with fewer cameras and the ability to identify perpetrators after the fact. The positive experience led to an expansion of the system to other store properties, all while contributing to a low total cost of ownership.
