St. Thomas Aquinas School Secured by MOBOTIX

St. Thomas Aquinas School, a Catholic school in Iowa, needed to secure its interconnected campus buildings to ensure the safety of its students, staff, and parishioners. The challenge was to lock down the facility while still monitoring doors and providing controlled access, moving away from a model where doors remained unlocked during the day. To address this, the school partnered with vendor Mobotix for a modern security solution.

Mobotix implemented a solution using its T25 IP video door stations for access control at main entrances and a Q25 hemispheric camera for parking lot surveillance. The system allows administrators to verify visitors via video and grant access remotely using mobile devices. The solution proved its value by capturing footage of a vandal who broke into the church; this evidence led to a quick arrest and potentially averted a planned arson. As a result, the school considers the Mobotix system to have paid for itself and is planning to expand its coverage.
