MOBOTIX and Grupo Security join forces to solve a large solar farm’s security challenges

Grupo Security was commissioned to protect the perimeter of a large solar farm, a challenge that required a cost-effective security solution capable of drastically reducing false alarms. These false alerts are a common problem in such environments, often triggered by shadows from equipment that can interfere with the solar farm's production.

The solution was implemented using MOBOTIX thermal imaging cameras, specifically the M73 model. MOBOTIX technology allowed cameras to be placed at long distances to avoid casting shadows on the panels, with 60 units covering a 6km perimeter. The intelligent on-camera video analysis accurately detects and classifies people and vehicles while filtering out false alarms from animals or vegetation. Grupo Security reported that the MOBOTIX system provided a 100% functional and secure solution that met the client's specific needs.
