A Mobotix Case Study
Iowa 80 Group, a chain of large truck stops, faced a security challenge with their outdated analog surveillance system. The poor image quality failed to deter theft or help with liability fraud investigations, and the system was difficult to use. The massive size of their facilities and a desire to maintain a welcoming aesthetic made finding a comprehensive and discreet surveillance solution difficult. They partnered with vendor Mobotix to address these issues.
The solution deployed by Mobotix included their Q24 and D14 DualDome cameras, which provided high-resolution, 360-degree coverage with fewer devices. This dramatically improved image clarity for identifying incidents and reduced the initial number of cameras needed, leading to significant cost savings on both infrastructure and long-term maintenance. The results gave Iowa 80 Group complete surveillance coverage, effectively reducing liability claims and retail theft, which led them to roll out the Mobotix system across their other locations.
