Case Study: Montebello improves transit safety with MOBOTIX video surveillance

Integrated systems including MOBOTIX technology provides instant video surveillance and sensor data for faster response to incidents

Montebello Bus Lines (MBL), a city-owned public transit agency in Los Angeles County, faced the challenge of outdated and reactive analog CCTV systems on its buses. The legacy systems were error-prone and did not allow public safety officers to respond to active incidents. MBL required an intelligent video security solution to enable faster response times and partnered with MOBOTIX to address this need.

The solution implemented used rugged MOBOTIX S15 FlexMount cameras and a unified management platform. This system provides instant remote video viewing via LTE, integrates sensor data for automated alerts, and utilizes cloud storage for efficient archiving. As a result, MBL can now respond immediately to active situations and quickly search footage for incidents. The successful pilot on seven buses has led to plans for a fleet-wide rollout of the MOBOTIX system.
