Case Study: Monte Kaolino achieves reliable toboggan run surveillance with MOBOTIX video technology

The customer, Monte Kaolino, a sand mountain and outdoor recreation area in Germany, faced the challenge of securing its toboggan run and boat lift system according to strict TÜV safety guidelines. The primary difficulties were the harsh environment, with high winds whipping up fine sand that could damage sensitive electronic components, and the need for a system that provided clear, reliable oversight without overwhelming the operators. They turned to vendor Mobotix for an IP video solution using their robust outdoor cameras.

Mobotix implemented a solution using just seven of its IP cameras (M12, M22, and M24 models), which were chosen for their completely sealed housings that defy sand infiltration and their high-resolution digital zoom. The system was installed and running in just four days. The results were a highly effective and objective monitoring tool for safety incidents, low operating costs, and significant savings from needing far fewer cameras than typical systems to achieve comprehensive coverage thanks to the cameras' wide field of view and detailed image quality.
