A Mobotix Case Study
Laurel School District, the public school district for Laurel, Mississippi, faced the challenge of replacing its end-of-life analog security cameras. The system failed to cover all areas, missing a critical incident, and the high cost of pulling cable for a closed-concept building was a major concern. They partnered with vendor Mobotix to find an IP-based solution, specifically interested in their hemispheric camera technology.
The solution implemented by Mobotix used their Q25 hemispheric cameras, which provided wide-area views that allowed one camera to replace four traditional ones, leading to significant cost savings on hardware. The system, managed by MxEasy software, delivered superior image quality with minimal bandwidth usage. The results included improved student safety, the ability to verify incidents like thefts, and controlled access via a T25 video door station. Mobotix provided a future-proof foundation that enhanced security and corrected behavior while meeting the district's budget requirements.
