BIEBER + MARBURG Uses Video Technology To Document Loading

Bieber + Marburg, a family-owned steel distributor in Giessen, Germany, wanted to enhance security and document its complex loading and dispatch operations. The company faced the challenge of monitoring its vast premises efficiently, needing to replace time-consuming physical inspection rounds. They partnered with vendor Mobotix to implement a comprehensive IP video surveillance system.

Mobotix provided a solution using its Allround, DualNight, and DualDome IP cameras, along with its MxControlCenter software and MxPEG codec. This system eliminated the need for physical tours, saving significant time by allowing staff to check operations remotely. The implementation also included specialized black-and-white imaging for better low-light performance and lower bandwidth usage, with each camera using only about 1.5 Mbps. Mobotix’s technology enabled the careful documentation of all processes, enhanced security, and reduced both network load and associated costs for the customer.
