An Intelligent Solution MOBOTIX Directs Light Experience in Willem II Passage

The municipality of Tilburg sought to create a safe and dynamically lit passageway that connected its city center with a trendy district. They launched a competition for a design that would use smart technology to enhance the urban environment discreetly. For this innovative project, the vendor Mobotix provided its camera technology to help realize the solution.

Mobotix implemented a solution using four of its S15 cameras with double lenses. These smart cameras detect the movement, direction, and speed of each passer-by across dozens of zones to automatically control a reactive light experience powered by approximately 14,000 LED lights. The result is a stable and award-winning installation that has been functioning successfully for seven years, creating a unique and enthusiastic public response to the decorative light show.
