The Mall at Short Hills, an upscale shopping center managed by Taubman Corporate, required a cohesive, high-resolution IP video surveillance system to upgrade its outdated analog system and improve security for shoppers and tenants. They partnered with vendor MOBOTIX and systems integrator MTS to address challenges like vandalism, crime, and the need for reliable evidence.

The solution leveraged nearly 75 MOBOTIX DualDome D15 megapixel cameras, which provided 360-degree surveillance and reduced the overall camera count and wiring costs by 50 percent. The high-resolution footage was crucial for police to rapidly solve a serious crime, prompting further expansion of the system into parking areas. The MOBOTIX solution, which also uses MxControlCenter software and Pivot3 storage, provides scalable, high-quality video, remote access for security and police, and has become a security model for the management company's other properties.
