Citizen Gets 5-Star Rating & Eliminates 1,000s of Manual Testing Hours

Citizen, the top-five ranked safety app with over 10 million users, needed a better way to keep quality high as it shipped weekly releases across iOS and Android. With a very small QA team and limited physical device coverage, the company relied heavily on emulators and a few manual devices, which led to bugs slipping through and negative user experiences. Citizen used Mobot’s mobile testing platform, including Mobot Live, to strengthen its release process.

Mobot worked with Citizen to build weekly test plans based on user and device data, covering critical flows, performance, battery usage, multi-device interactions, and location spoofing across many physical devices. The result was a 4x increase in device coverage, 5x QA efficiency, 600 test cases run each week, and thousands of bugs caught. Mobot also helped raise Citizen’s app store rating from 3.9 to 4.8 and eliminated hundreds of hours of manual testing work.
