How the National Education Association empowered their state affiliates to take action with Mobilize

The National Education Association (NEA), the largest educators union in the United States, needed a way to help its state affiliates host events and take action at scale while still accommodating affiliates of very different sizes and limited staff. Before using Mobilize, the NEA’s affiliates relied on a mix of tools that made it difficult to compare data, coordinate nationwide actions, and support consistent organizing across states.

Mobilize provided the NEA with a unified event and action platform, including dashboards for affiliates, automated reminders, integrated mobile messaging, and VAN integration to track attendance and drive follow-up action. The results were strong: the NEA generated more than 240,000 event signups, 46.5% of signups came from Mobilize automations, and over 60,000 were friend-to-friend signups. During the pandemic, an NEA webinar on safely returning to in-person instruction also drew more than 40,000 signups, showing how Mobilize helped NEA quickly mobilize members around timely issues.
