Case Study: Arizona Education Association secures 435,000+ petition signatures and 34% more signups with Mobilize

How the Arizona Education Association used Mobilize to pass #InvestInEd

The Arizona Education Association (AEA), the largest professional association for public school employees in Arizona, needed to mobilize members and collect signatures for the #INVESTinED (Prop 208) initiative in 2020 but COVID-19 shut down in-person canvassing. Facing a goal to engage roughly 9% of members, safely gather hundreds of thousands of in-person signatures under state law, and track volunteer participation, AEA turned to Mobilize’s volunteer and event platform for a virtual-ready engagement strategy.

Mobilize provided a centralized dashboard, virtual-event hosting, automated recruitment (event suggestions, newsletters, cross-promotion), bring-a-friend prompts, volunteer-hosting features, and VAN integration. With these tools AEA ran 474 virtual events, recruited 107 volunteer hosts, drove 510 shifts into 325 host-led events, and recruited 2,173 supporters to take 3,267 actions—generating 34% more signups and collecting and submitting 435,000+ petition signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State.
