A Mobilize Case Study
Persist Brooklyn, a grassroots group formed by former Elizabeth Warren campaign organizers, faced the challenge of keeping a tight-knit volunteer community and sustaining recruitment and engagement after the campaign ended and as events shifted online during COVID-19. To continue phone/text banking, canvassing and social events while managing volunteer data, they turned to Mobilize and set up a Mobilize account to centralize sign-ups, communications, and outreach.
Mobilize provided automated cross-promotion, a centralized volunteer database and group chat tools that streamlined recruitment, follow-up and event execution; Persist Brooklyn scheduled over 4,000 shifts, with 17% of volunteers (over 700 shifts) coming from Mobilize cross-promotion and 17.6% of supporters signing up via bring‑a‑friend invites, while 46% of shifts were phone/text banks. Using Mobilize, Persist Brooklyn expanded nationally for virtual events, improved volunteer retention and peer recruitment, and reclaimed momentum as a growing progressive organizing force.
