How UArts uses mobile technology to involve students in campus life

The University of the Arts, a school of about 1,800 students in Philadelphia, wanted an easy way to engage students, boost attendance at campus programming, and give them better access to resources. To support those goals, the university worked with MobileUp Software and its student engagement app, using it for events like Orientation and UArts Day.

MobileUp Software helped UArts turn its Great Race into a smartphone app with challenge lists, directions, photo check-ins, a leaderboard, and a social highlight reel. The app recorded nearly 1,700 completed challenges in about 10 hours, and UArts reported stronger student engagement, more informed students, increased attendance at events, new student organization start-ups, and more feedback from students.
